A Troubleshooting Guide for Water Dispenser Appliance

A water dispenser makes life more convenient. You don’t need to go through the process of filling up the water, boiling it, purifying it and then storing it. The built-in water purifier does it all. Just connect the dispenser unit to a water outlet or tap and you are done. The water cooler gives you instant access to cold water and a second tap dispenses water at room temperature.

All it needs is a little bit of basic maintenance to run smoothly for years. There could be times when you feel that the water dispenser is not working properly but may not be able to figure out the exact problem. This guide is to help you through such instances. We have listed the possible problems and the process for rectifying them.

Water Doesn’t Get Dispensed

Ensure that the power cord is plugged in properly. Check for water flow from the inlet water tap. If there’s some problem with the water supply itself, find out what the issue is and get it resolved.

The Appliance Is Making Noise

If you happen to notice amplitude vibration and loud noise, check the positioning of the water dispenser. It must be placed on a levelled flat surface for proper functioning.

The Taste of the Water Is Bad

Cleaning the taps and storage tank well after emptying it should solve the problem. You can check with the service technician if this is a part of the regular service and get it cleaned accordingly.

Water Is Not Cooling

First, check if the dispenser is receiving power. Next, check whether the switch for cold water is turned on. Remove some water from the tap and wait for the indicator light to go on to ensure power supply.

Another option is to remove a litre or two of water and allow it to rest for 24 hours. Switch on all the buttons and wait for a few hours. Check.

If this also does not work, there could be a wiring or compressor problem. Call a technician to look into the matter.

Leaking Water

This could be due to mineral build-up in the taps. It is not uncommon but will need to be cleaned. Start with switching off the power supply and empty the storage tank. Make a mix of vinegar and water in the ratio 1:2 in a 1-litre bottle and add it to the storage tank and leave it there for 10-15 minutes. The build up on the taps can be cleaned using an old toothbrush dipped in this solution. Flush out the water from the tank through the taps. Refill clean water and flush it out again twice. Connect the dispenser to water supply and remove some water to ensure that the tank and the taps are clean. If the problem persists, get a professional from your supplier to take a look.

The Flow of Water Is Slow

The reason could again be a mineral build-up. The method described above should help.

A regular cleaning process every 3-4 months should keep your water dispenser running smoothly for years. If you fail to understand the problem, do seek assistance from the servicing agents from the manufacturing company.
