An Electric Bike in Every Garage?

Today, with gas prices getting higher all the time, Why not a rechargeable electric bike in every garage? Would that be such an impossible goal?

Instead of hopping into the car to drive to a store a couple of miles away to pick up a loaf of bread and a quart of milk, (not to mention spending more on gasoline in the process than both items together would cost,) why not hop on your handy electric bike and pick up the items for practically no transportation cost at all? Or get your teen out from in front of that computer game for a while and send him or her.

When you compare the cost of three trips around the block before you find a parking place for your car and a quarter for the parking meter with the five cents worth of electricity it took to recharge your bike and the free parking at the rack in front of the store, it makes you wonder why you didn’t switch to an electric bike years ago.

An added incentive for using the ebike range calculator is that you can pedal along the way if you aren’t in too big a rush, and end up adding some physical exercise to your day with not much extra effort at all. Short jaunts to a nearby store, or out around the neighborhood for some much-needed fresh air and exercise are ideal for electric bikes. Equipped with a basket, they are perfect for carting books to and from the library.

Saying that taking the car is faster is not always true. By the time you find the car keys, get the car started, and drive to your destination and back, you have probably spent just as much time as you would have spent if you had done the same errand on your bike.

Most people supporters of using electric bikes are not asking that we dump our cars. Not at all. Common sense tells us that cars will be around for a long time to come. No one expects you to get dressed up in your Sunday best for church and ride your bike to church in a rainstorm or on an icy street. And, I’m sure they aren’t suggesting that you mount a buddy seat of the bike to haul your girlfriend to a late-night movie—although, if she likes to ride, there is no reason why you couldn’t approach the subject with her.

People ride electric bicycles for many different reasons. It is a cheaper model of transportation than a car, but faster and less strenuous than riding a traditional bike so you can get where you need to go conveniently. Riding an electric bike is also much more eco-friendly than a car and a great way to get outside more often. One of the nicest things about riding an electric bicycle instead of a traditional bicycle is the ease of riding. If you always seem to get tired before you reach your destination and find yourself dripping in sweat by the time you get there, this might be the perfect option for you.

Bicycles such as HOVSCO E-BIKE are great for getting around town, getting to work, or getting around campus if you are a student. You can use your feet to pedal as long as you want, and then you can let the efficient motor do the rest. There is no gasoline or diesel required, so you don’t have to spend money and waste the earth’s resources to get where you’re going. As soon as you feel yourself getting tired you can just sit back and let the bike do its thing.

A good electric bike can run for as many as 30 miles on a single charge, and you can simply let it charge overnight and while you are at work or school so it is always ready to go when you need it. Electric bicycles aren’t only good for commuting, either. The Green Cruiser Electric Bikes are very popular with hikers, for example. If you want to get to the base of the mountain without tiring yourself out before you’ve even started, you can take one of these bikes and save your energy for the hike. And if you ever get lost or stuck in bad weather, you will certainly be glad you weren’t riding a traditional bicycle that would take forever to get home.

An electric bicycle can be your sole means of transportation if you live in a big city, or it can supplement your car if you just want a more eco-friendly alternative. It doesn’t matter what your reason is for getting one – these bikes are fun, easy to ride, and very affordable. It’s the perfect bike for anyone who wants to get around town without getting tired out before you even reach your destination.

What electric bike enthusiasts are asking is that more people consider getting an electric bike to use as a second vehicle; one that can help cut down congestion and pollution in our cities and towns, and one that can help you, individually save money by lessening your dependence on high priced gasoline.

Don’t you think it is something worth looking into?
