But the routine of these two is disrupted when the Daughter meets a woman played by Hilary Swank. The woman said that a robot had shot her, and hence she preferred a human to perform her surgery. Later in the story, Mother said that the woman was lying as a projectile is not a caliber that is used by robots.

This movie includes some elements from the filmography of Ridley Scott and weaves it as a provoking thought of a young growing teenage girl. It had many impressive effects, but it was an underrated classic.

Total Recall (1990)

Total Recall is an American science fiction movie directed by Paul Verhoeven and written by Gary Goldman, Ronald Shusett, Jon Povill, and Dan O’Bannon. Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sharon Stone, Rachel Ticotin, Ronny Cox, and Michael Ironside are a few casts of the film. The story of the movie was loosely based on a short story “We Can Remember It for You Wholesale” by Philip K. Dick in 1966. The film follows a construction worker who found himself conflicted on Mars. And he was unable to understand whether he is experiencing it for real or it is the result of memory implants. The Platform (2020)

The Platform is a Spanish sci-fi horror movie directed by Gaztelu Urrutia. The set of the film is in a tower-style “Vertical Self Management Center”. The cast involves Antonia San Juan, Ivan Massague, Emilio Buale Coka, Zorion Eguileor, and Alexandra Masangkay. The film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2019, and it also has won the People’s Choice Award for Midnight Madness. The movie was released on 20th March 2020 on the streaming platform Netflix.

District 9 (2009)

District 9 is a sci-fi action film directed by Neill Blomkamp, produced by Peter Jackson along with Carolynne Cunningham, and was written by Terri Tatchell. The movie was presented as a found footage format featuring the fictional interviews, and video from surveillance interviews. The storyline explores the theme of xenophobia, social segregation, and humanity.

The story started in 1982, where a giant extraterrestrial spaceship arrived in a Southern African city of Johannesburg. An investigating team found over a million malnourished aliens known as “prawns”. The alien civilization is sent to a camp named District 9. Snowpiercer (2014)

Snowpiercer is a Korean sci-fi film based on a novel named Le Transperceneige by Jacques Lob, Jean-Marc Rochette, and Benjamin Legrand. The movie was directed by Bong Joon-ho and was written by Kelly Masterson and Bong. As the cast of the movie Song Kang-ho, Chris Evans, Jamie Bell, Octavia Spencer, Ed Harris, and Tilda Swinton are in the movie.

The story started after an attempt to stop global warming by using climate engineering, which backfired and began a new ice age in 2014. The story of the film is both engaging and thriller. It presents the basics of socially aware science fiction that expands into challenging elements.
