Digital marketing strategy-categories

The thing about the internet is that it is always growing, expanding, and changing. While this is exciting, it also means there can be a steeper learning curve that constantly needs updating.

It only makes sense that the world of online marketing grows, expands, and shifts, too. Today there’s clearly more than one way to craft a winning digital marketing strategy that positions your website on the internet to optimize results.

The good news is that though these areas are separate marketing categories and online advertising strategies, they can all work together to achieve your goals and grow your business.

A digital marketing strategy can be divided into 6 main categories:

  1. Content marketing
  2. Native advertising
  3. Pay-per-click management (PPC)
  4. Search engine optimization (SEO)
  5. Social media marketing
  6. Email marketing

1. Content marketing: It is the medium through which we release our products through blogs, ebooks, infographics, etc. The objective of Content Marketing is to increase customers through lead generation by creating awareness of our product and by increasing traffic growth. It’s important to have a proper content marketing strategy in 2022 to have that upper hand in the market.

2. Native advertising is the concept of creating ads that are so cohesive with the page content, assimilated into the design, and consistent with the platform behavior that the viewer feels the ad belongs there.

Promoted search results and sponsored social media posts are popular examples of native ads. Both formats provide the same kind of value to users as the organic search results and user-generated social media posts.

3.Pay-per-click (PPC) is an online advertising model in which an advertiser pays a publisher every time an advertisement link is “clicked” on. Alternatively, PPC is known as the cost-per-click (CPC) model.

Google Ads, formerly known as Google AdWords – by far the most popular PPC platform – operates on a pay-per-click model, in which users bid on keywords and pay for each click on their advertisements.

4. SEO stands for “search engine optimization.” In simple terms, it means the process of improving your site to increase its visibility when people search for products or services related to your business in Google, Bing, and other search engines. The better visibility your pages have in search results, the more likely you are to garner attention and attract prospective and existing customers to your business.

5. Social media marketing: Social media marketing is the use of social media platforms to connect with your audience to build your brand, increase sales, and drive website traffic. This involves publishing great content on your social media profiles, listening to and engaging your followers, analyzing your results, and running social media advertisements.

The major social media platforms (at the moment) are Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, YouTube, and Snapchat.

6. Email marketing: Email marketing is a powerful marketing channel, a form of direct marketing as well as digital marketing, that uses email to promote your business’s products or services. It can help make your customers aware of your latest items or offers by integrating it into your marketing automation efforts. It can also play a pivotal role in your marketing strategy with lead generation, brand awareness, building relationships or keeping customers engaged between purchases through different types of marketing emails.
