Hornets Venom GT wins The Turn tournament
Hornets Venom GT won their first title at the tournament, with 2K22 MT an easy sweep of the semifinals and finals of The Turn in NBA 2K League. The Hornets played their final series against Blazer5 Gaming with a 76-65 win, thanks to a 21-11 burst during the fourth quarter. The Hornets then took a reverse approach in the clincher after going up 19-9 in the opening quarter to lead to a 67-59 win.
Craig “rigby” Burnett Jr. finished the first game with nine assists and 31 points. This included making 11 of his 18 attempts from the field and 8 of 12 from 3-point distance. Peter “PeteBeBallin” Malin collected the team’s highest score of 24 points with 13 rebounds and Justin “Sherm” Sherman added 11 assists and 12 points for the Hornets.
Matthew “Bash”, Robles was the winner , scoring 15 points and 15 assists. Dayvon “GOOFY757”, Curry and Marquis “Randomz”, Gill each scored 16 points. In the second match, Sherm finished with 20 points then ribgy scored 18 and 13 for PeteBeBallin. Rashann “Scretty” Petty scored 22 to be the leader of the Blazer5 second game. Bash had 14 points and GOOFY757 added 10 and 15 rebounds.
Heat Check Gaming was defeated by the Hornets beating them 81-47 and 75-63. Blazer5 took their place in Cheap NBA 2K22 MT the finals following a win over Wizards District Gaming 72-67 and 74-67. Rigby was awarded MVP honors for his 24.5 points average in the semifinals and finals. He also scored 25.5 points in all nine games during the tournament.
