How to find your music and Apple music library on iOS

You can use the universal search feature of both Music app and iTunes to search for your songs, albums, artists, and playlists. Irrespective of whether the content is stored locally or online on Apple’s online catalog. If you’re not a subscriber of Apple Music, then you can only search and access to music radio stations.

How to find your music library content with the search field

  1. Open the ‘Music’ app.
  2. Switch to ‘My Music’ tab from the bottom, if already not.
  3. Tap on the ‘Magnifying glass’ icon at the upper-right corner.
  4. When searching field appears, tap on ‘My Music’ tab.
  5. Now, type the name of the songs, albums, artists, genre or playlists you’re finding.

How to find the Apple Music library content with the search field

  1. Open the ‘Music’ app.
  2. Switch to ‘My Music’ tab from the bottom, if already not.
  3. Tap on the ‘Magnifying glass’ icon at the upper-right corner.
  4. When searching field appears, tap on ‘Apple Music’ tab.
  5. Now, type the name of the songs, albums, artists, genre or playlists you’re finding.

Here you can also enter and search for the name of a show, beats, etc. to search for them.

How to check the trending searches

  1. Open the ‘Music’ app.
  2. Tap on the ‘Magnifying glass’ icon at the upper-right corner.
  3. When searching field appears, tap on ‘Apple Music’ tab.
  4. Here you’ll see the “Trending Searches.”
  5. Tap on anyone to perform the search.

How to view and erase your search history

You can check the search history if someone uses your device. Or if you want to discover for a song you searched in the past, then the search history will help you. You can also erase the search history so that no one knows about your searches and to prevent recommendations.

  1. Open the ‘Music’ app.
  2. Tap on the ‘Magnifying glass’ icon at the upper-right corner.
  3. When searching field appears, tap on the ‘History’ (Clock) icon at the top.
  4. Here you’ll see your search history/Recent Searches.
  5. Tap on any search result to perform the search again.

Steps to clear Recent Searches:

  1. Open the ‘Music’ app.
  2. Tap on the ‘Magnifying glass’ icon at the upper-right corner.
  3. When searching field appears, tap on the ‘History’ (Clock) icon at the top.
  4. Here you’ll see your search history/Recent Searches.
  5. Tap the ‘Clear’ button at the upper-left corner.
  6. Hit ‘Clear Recent Searches’ to confirm.

This will clear your recent searches or search history.
