How to Minimize a Fullscreen Computer Program

You can minimize a full-screen computer program on both Windows PC and Mac to display the desktop. You need to know that most of the programs like games will take more time to get minimized as compared to others. Here’s how to minimize a full-screen computer program.

Steps to Minimize a Screen Using the Keyboard on Windows

  • Find the “Exit full-screen” option. You will get this option in the screen which is not on the full-screen mode, you have to click on it and after that, tap on the minus option given on the right-hand side of the screen for minimizing a full-screen computer program.
  • You need to click twice on the video player screen such as VLC or YouTube, and it will automatically disable the full-screen mode.
  • Tap on the Esc button to leave the full-screen mode. In case you are playing any video or opening images in full-screen mode, and after clicking on this button, it will close the full-screen mode.
  • Press on the Windows key on the system keyboard for showing the toolbar. This key will show the Windows symbol, and it let the toolbar to start showing at the end of the display. After that, tap the program’s symbol which is in the full-screen mode so that you can minimize it, or click the “Show Desktop” box given in the right-hand side of the toolbar.
  • Click on the Windows and M keys together so that you can minimize the all the windows which are recently open. After clicking on both the keys, it will close full-screen mode and minimize all the windows to the toolbar. When you attempt to open all the windows again, then it will return to the full-screen mode.
  • Click Windows + Shift +M keys together so that you can reopen all the programs which you have minimized.
  • Tap on the Control +Alternate + Delete keys together to stop the program. Clicking on both the keys will close the window in case a game is open on the screen. To return to the desktop, you have to follow the steps listed below:
  1. Press on the Task Manager option.
  2. Tap on the Processes option.
  3. Press on the programs which are in the full-screen mode.
  4. Type the End task button.
  • Now, you have to shut down the system. In case you are using the programs in full-screen mode, then keep pressing on the power button given on the system until it automatically shut down the system. In case you turn on the system again, then the all the windows get closed.
