How to remove stuck music player notification from the lock screen?

Music Player notification on the lock screen is useful; you can view, pause or play, as well as jump to next or previous track with the widget. But it is worrying when it appears without playing any track or video. If the Music Player notification is stuck on your iPhone’s lock screen, try this:

  1. Open your device lock.
  2. Open the ‘Music Player’ app.
  3. Keep the app open.
  4. Now, bring up the ‘App Drawer.’ To bring up app drawer in iPhone 8 or previous double tap on ‘Home’ button, and in iPhone X swipe up from the lower of the screen.
  5. Remove the ‘Music app’ from the app switcher.

If the music app is running in the background, this will close it and hence removes the stuck Music Player notification from the lock screen of your device.

If you’ve already tried it or this wouldn’t remove the music player widget from the lock screen, use next solutions.

Close all the running apps

If just removing the music app was helpless, then possibly any other media-playing program is using the music app and displaying the music player widget on the lock screen. For instance, you used YouTube on Safari or played a video on other media player apps. So, try closing all of the running applications. To do so,

  1. Open your device lock.
  2. Bring up the ‘App Drawer.’ Use the method given into the above steps to bring up the app drawer on your device.
  3. Now, remove all the apps from the app switcher.
  4. Make sure you’ve closed all the running programs.

After closing all the applications, lock your device and check whether the widget is still there. Try the next solution, if the music player widget hasn’t been removed.

Try Powering off your device and then power it on (Restart)

Rebooting will refresh a device; this will remove temporary data and closes all the programs running in the background.

To reboot an iPhone X:

  2. Now, touch and slide the slider to the next side. This will turn off your iPhone X.
  3. Allow it to turn off completely.
  4. After turning off, wait for a minute.
  5. Now, again press and hold down the side button for some seconds. This will turn on your iPhone X.

To reboot an iPhone 8, 8+ or previous:

  1. Press the top/side button for some seconds. You’ll see ‘Slide to power off’ option on your screen.

  3. Allow it to turn off completely.
  4. After turning off, wait for a minute.
  5. Now, again press and hold down the top/side button for some seconds and allow your device to boot up completely.

Done! Now check the lock screen and see whether the music player notification has gone away.
