Chapter 4: Heat

 

In this chapter, students will learn how to know whether an object is hot or cold and how to measure its temperature. In this chapter laboratory thermometers and heat transfer are described. Finally, we will discuss the types of clothes we wear in summer and winter.

 

Chapter 5: Acids, Bases and Salts

 

This chapter will help students understand the basic definition of acids and bases, the types of natural indicators around us, the neutralization process, and examples of neutralization in everyday life.

 

Chapter 6: Physical and Chemical Change

 

In this chapter students learn about physical and chemical changes through various activities. The head then illuminates the motive, iron rust and crystallization.

 

Chapter 7: Weather, climate and adaptation of animals to climate

 

This chapter begins with an explanation of the weather and climate. Then the effects of climate on living organisms and their adaptation to climate are described. Arctic regions and tropical forests are also described at the end of this chapter.

Chapter 8: Winds, Storms, and Hurricanes

 

This chapter discusses natural disasters that destroy human life and result in the loss of property. This chapter starts with the properties of air, viz.

 

  • Air exerts pressure
  • Strong winds are associated with a decrease in air pressure
  • Air expands when heated

 

This chapter then discusses various situations where wind power is generated due to uneven floor heating. This chapter then describes thunderstorms, cyclones, cyclone damage, effective safety precautions, and how technology protects us from these disasters.

 

Chapter 9: Land

 

Soil is essential for life on earth. This chapter begins with the topic of soil profiles, which describe the different layers of soil. Furthermore, topics such as soil type, soil properties, soil moisture, soil water absorption, soil and plants are developed.

 

Chapter 10: Respiration in Organisms

 

This chapter begins with an explanation of the breathing process. Then we talk about the process of breathing, how we breathe, what we breathe in, how breathing occurs in other animals. He also explained how fish breathe underwater and how respiration works in plants.

 

Chapter 11: Transport in animals and plants

 

In this chapter students learn about the transportation of substances in animals and plants. This chapter describes in detail the circulatory system, animal excretion and transportation of underwater plants.

 

Chapter 12: Propagation in Plants

 

In this chapter, students learn about different types of reproduction. Asexual reproduction occurs via budding, fragmentation, and sporulation. Meanwhile, sexual reproduction occurs through pollination and fertilization. At the end of the chapter describes the formation of fruit and seeds and the process of seed reproduction.

 

Chapter 13: Movement and Time

 

This is a very interesting chapter that explains the concepts of measuring velocity, time and velocity. At the end of the chapter, a distance-time diagram shows the movement of an object in the form of a picture.

 

Chapter 14: Electric Current and Its Effects

Chapter 18: The History of Waste
