As a matter of fact, Netgear EX2700 holds a WPS (WiFi-Protected Setup) feature that allows you to connect to those devices easily that have WPS capability. We will show you the step-by-step procedure on how to install your Netgear extender using the WPS button.

  • Place your EX2700 N300 in the same room as your main WiFi router.

  • Ensure that you have an active and up running internet connection coming from your main device. It should be WPS capable also.

  • Plug EX2700 into an electrical outlet. Let the LED light on it become stable.

  • On the side panel of your range extender press the WPS button and hold it for a few seconds. The WPS LED on your Netgear extender will blink.

  • After a few minutes, push the WPS button on your router also.

  • The Router Link LED will become solid green. This indicates that your Netgear_EXT is successfully connected to your WiFi network.

  • Take your range extender and plug it into a new location. Ensure that it is plugged in properly between your main router and the computer or laptop to acquire a good and continuous WiFi signal.

  • Without any issue, you are now free to connect your wireless devices to the Extender’s new network name (SSID).

For Firmware version 1.0.1.7 and below we do have another way to install Netgear EX2700 N300 extender.

  • In the first place, make sure that your devices (router and the range extender) and plugged in reach of each other (temporary placement).

  • Also, ensure that your WiFi router is up-to-date and throwing live an active internet connection.

  • Open a web browser onto a device (computer or laptop) that is properly connected to EX2700 via Ethernet cable.

  • Once both the devices are connected with each other physically and properly, the device Link LED will become solid green.

  • Pull up an internet browser on your connected device that will redirect you to Netgear Genie setup page to help you with Netgear extender setup process.

Note: If you fail to see Netgear Genie after opening a web browser, type mywifiext.net.

You will be prompt to enter username and password. If you don’t have, look for Netgear WiFi range extender manual or if you have personalized them, then use them instead.

  • Once you have filled the login credentials, hit the Log In button.

  • When another window appears, hit the Continue button to run the setup process.

  • Here, you might want to wait for some time for Netgear Genie to scan your network. It will display the list of available networks that are active within the range of your range extender. Select your network from the displayed list and hit the Continue button.

  • Enter the password/passcode/passphrase of your existing WiFi network and hit the Continue button.

  • You are now informed that the WiFi settings of your range extender have been changed successfully and you are supposed to connect to your main network prior to clicking on the Continue button.

  • Once you have connected your WiFi-enabled devices to the new extended wireless network, hit the Finish button to complete the new extender setup and installation process.

Now, you can plug your range extender anywhere you want.

Note: If you face mywifiext.net login issues, then you can use 192.168.1.250 as well.
