Pokémon Go Team Discusses Level Cap Increase

Pokémon Go is a unique augmented reality(AR) game that is available for both iOS and Android platforms. It was launched in 2016 and since the launch players have experienced several Fests. Recently there was a virtual first-ever “Go Fest” event held for the trainers to collect some rare items and to catch some legendary Pokémon. In the rare category of Pokémon, the “Shadow Mewtwo” was included. However, only the gamers who had purchased the GO Fest ticket were able to get the “Shadow Mewtwo.” Numerous players on Pokémon Go are now on Level 40, which is the highest trainer level right now. For Level 40 players, it’s quite easy to catch any type of Pokémon.

Lots of players have been on Level 40 for a long time, and now the Pokémon Go team is thinking about increasing the level cap. Level 40 is in the game since the launch in 2016. However, reaching level 40 was never easy for most of the players because of the lack of PokéStop and Poke Gym. Now it’s been almost four years, and there should be some increment in the levels.

“Niantic” team has been thinking about it for a long time and in the latest interview Matt Slemon, Pokémon Go Product Lead, disclosed that it might happen soon. In short, they revealed that the Pokémon Go team has been working on it for a while.

With every level, players have to double the effort to reach the next level. The soon to be introduced level will require double XP earning from the previously targeted XP.

The idea of leveling up is great and exciting. Probably the developers are planning to feature some cool stuff with the help of events. This year, all the events were completely insane in terms of Items, Pokémon, and Battle Rewards. Players were allowed to earn some rare Pokémon and expensive items. Every event introduced several challenges and offered some hidden rewards. In the upcoming months of this year, there will be many cool events, and the whole Pokémon Go team is excited about this. In future players will have more opportunities to capture the rare Pokémon. Those who complete the research tasks and special bonus tasks will earn some hidden rare rewards. Level 40 is the highest level in Pokémon Go right now. Trainers are always ready to compete with new challenges to earn unique rewards. Rising above level 40 will not be an easy task for trainers, but if developers provide cool challenges and rewards, they will surely be happy.
