The friend of Malluchi, Jaimie, while talking about the popularity of Pop in the UK, said that he bridged the music scenes of the UK and the US. He rapped on drill beats of the UK  or UK rap while working with the producers AXL Beats, 808Melo, and Yoz Beatz.

Pop Smoke: Career  and relationship

Pop Smoke started his music career in the year 2018 while hanging around with many other recording artists during the sessions in their studios. Initially, he began releasing a remix of the popular songs with the drill music within New York City. Then, he embarked on creating his original music which rose him to success and popularity. Pop released Welcome to the Party in April in the year 2019, and then he released his debut mixtape, Meet the Woo, in the same year. Later, when he worked with the British drill producer, 808Melo, which made his name very much familiar to music lovers and people of London. Meanwhile, he was also in a relationship with artists like Fredo, Dave, and AJ Tracey.

A music journalist Abubakar Finiin said the previously released mixtape by Pop Smoke featuring a freestyle on the same beat was the unique thing with Brooklyn rap. The UK producers AXL beats and 808 Melo shaped the whole new sound that was sparkling through Brooklyn. Initially, Abubakar said that the artists working in Brooklyn were not aware of the British producers. But, the two sub-genres of music evolved mutually together, and particularly Pop Smoke could be seen making considerable efforts to understand the music scene of the UK.

Jaimie, while highlighting the contribution made by Pop Smoke to two sub-genres of the music said that the great American rapper was evolving with his new work. His albums are a good mixture of genres, and  59 cent’s Many Men was a classic tune as the mixture of the latest and old school. Jaimie expressed sorrow that with the sudden demise of Pop Smoke, this incredible evolution story of music has also come to an end. The music lovers are now not going to see such creative albums anymore.

Controversy over the album cover

The posthumous album debut of Pop Smoke had to face controversy as a petition was filed to change its cover. It was initially created by the designer of streetwear Virgil Abloh and was given the name “lazy”. Malluchi said the earlier one was poorly designed and he hated it. He said the new one is very much decent. While recalling his first meeting with Pop Smoke, Malluchi said he saw Pop performing at a university rave in Leicester on “It was so sick.” He was glad to see him and Pop sent him a Snapchat video after recording it on the stage. Even though Jaimie has started singing the chorus to Dior, he says the music lovers will not listen to the songs of Pop anymore now.
