Ruturaj Gaikwad Shares the Atmosphere of CSK Camp

Despite the fact that Chennai Super Kings (CSK) were out of the race of playing in the playoffs in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 much before, CSK opener Ruturaj Gaikwad shared that the atmosphere in the dressing room was “pretty relaxed” and it didn’t feel like they are not in the race.

Notably, this is the first time that Chennai Super Kings wouldn’t be featured in the playoffs as they are the only team who had played all the playoffs of the league ever since it took place.

Gaikwad played a crucial role for the team for the last few games. He has scored three consecutive fifties – unbeaten 65 against Royal Challengers Bangalore, 72 against Kolkata Knight Riders and 62* against Kings XI Punjab.

“Obviously, I am looking to continue my form and win for the team, nothing else matters. Hopefully, we finish the tournament with a win and continue the momentum next year,” Gaikwad told teammate Shane Watson in a video posted by

“The atmosphere is pretty relaxed. It does not feel we are out of the tournament. The atmosphere during the first game and during this game was the same. It helps a lot,” he further shared.

Meanwhile, veteran all-rounder Shane Watson too praised the young talent and said that it has been a privilege to see him bat like this who has been playing incredibly well and so composed too. He also called his batting as “impressive”.

However, CSK convincingly win their last game in the cash-rich league against Kings XI Punjab on Sunday and ended the season on a high note.
