Summer in Oudenaarde: 3 Best Things To Do In The City Before Summer Ends

Unfortunately the end of the summer vacation is in sight, but we still have some tips to get the most out of your summer vacation! There is so much to do and experience in the beautiful city of Oudenaarde. There is so much nature, you can soak up the local culture, get to know the delicious regional products, discover your sporty side, … And all this corona-proof so that you can experience a fantastic holiday close to home.

1. Embark on an adventurous hiking quest

The quest is highly recommended for young and old. We start in the heart of the city and stroll along the beautiful heritage of Oudenaarde. In addition to the heritage, you will discover a surprising number of nice places, pubs and restaurants. Of course it remains a walking SEARCH and you must also search! 2. Let kids have fun in a pop-up summer playground

Are you coming to visit Oudenaarde with the kids? Children can play to their heart’s content on the pop-up playground in the small market. There is a large sandbox with an adventure playset where children can play while the parents perhaps have a drink?

3. Enjoy a guided walking tour

Would you like to get to know Oudenaarde even better? Come discover the legend of ‘Hanske de Krijger’ or follow in the footsteps of Adriaen Brouwer with your family, your lover or simply as an individual. You can join the ‘Jotie t’Hooft’ poetry walk until 23rd August. It is important to register in advance and to bring your mouth mask. The price is € 5 p.p. and children up to 12 years old can join for free. The walk starts at 2.30 pm at the tourist office at the town hall.

After a long walk in the surroundings of Oudenaarde, a wonderful night’s sleep can do wonders. The next morning you get up with a delicious breakfast and the day has already started well! That is a holiday and that, close to home!
