The Late History of Kaaba:
After the era of the Prophet of Islam, the Kaaba was rebuilt many times. In 683 CE, it was severely damaged by fire during the First Siege of Mecca, which was fought between Abdullah Ibn Zubair and the Umayyads. Abdullah rebuilt the Kaaba to include Hateem.
In 692 AD, the second siege of Makkah took place where the Kaaba was bombarded with stones. The following year, Abd al-Malik demolished the remains of the Kaaba and rebuilt it in the form of a cube, as it had been during the time of the Prophet.
In 1626, there was a flood that caused the Kaaba’s walls to collapse. The Holy Mosque was renovated the same year, and the Kaaba was rebuilt with Mecca granite stones. The Kaaba has remained unchanged since then.
